Hire a photographer in Tokyo
Tokyo International Forum - a true feast for any architecture photographer seeking a great spot to get lost in beauty of steel and glass shapes for a week or two. Seriously, one can spend a month in that place and still find new angles and perspectives to shoot from. I revisited TIF after few month with a solemn purpose of photographing using only ultra wide angle lens. Now this shot was meant to be really cold, so that is why I used cold tones, to emphasize the steel and glass textures, and create a slightly sci fi atmosphere. From this perspective, TIF looks like an interior of a massive alien spacecraft, or a futuristic zeppelin. I think that this place could be amazing spot for my next cyborg photoshop manipulation project. Anyways, If you are after goo Tokyo photos, that place should be on your list.

Sadly, Tokyo International Forum isn't haunted, that is Tristan Junker from Amazing Japan on facebook, with whom I have visited that marvelous piece of architecture, and who was modelling for me. Thanks a lot, Tristan! I absolutely love shooting there, and I bring all my photography students to challenge their composition skills. TIF can be shot during day, at night, and you can use tripods. Higher levels are virtually empty and are a spot often visited by shy couples seeking a refugee, away from the mad rush of Gotham City. The staff is really nice and relaxed. I seriously could shoot there every week, if I had time for it. This time I was photographing with ultra wide angle lens, and today I am editing some of the shots. This photo is a manual blend of 7 exposures, mainly for the shadowy figures of Tristan to be in the right spot. I also maksed in some areas from +1 and -2 and -3 exposures (mainly lights). To learn more about photo editing, visit my YouTube channel, where I have a full workflow photoshop video tutorial on digital blending.

Hire a photographer in Tokyo Here is another photo from the blur photography series. A shot taken from the front car of the Yurikamone automated train in Tokyo. I think next month I will jump on that line again, but this time I will bring ultra wide angle lens with me, and reshoot some of the places that Yurikamone line passes through at 10mm. This could also look fun through a fish eye. Blur photography is a lot of fun, and it is a great exercise for improving composition, especially if you shoot it from a moving subject, like train or a car.

Hire a photographer in Tokyo Here is another fine art photo of Tokyo's architecture, in cold steel tonality. I think next time I will go back there with an ultra wide angle lens and reshoot a few places to see things from a different perspective and angle. It is actually a great exercise for photographers of any level, to shoot one scene with different lenses and at as many angles and perspectives as possible. I often go back to the same location to seek a new challenge. Photo was taken in the Kaihin Makuhari office buildings area, just across from Makuhari Messe facilities. Great place to photograph.

Hire a photographer in Tokyo Here is another photo of mine of Tokyo Big Sight's modern architecture. That place is really loaded with great architectural details to photography, be it in colour, or black and white. Below photo shows a corner of one of the inverted pyramids of the central tower, which also acts as a landmark of Tokyo Big Sight, and also Odaiba. Sides of those pyramids are made of triangle-shaped titanium plates. Photo may seem as if was shot at night, but in fact it was a daytime, only the clouds were quite stormy. I added those two birds in photoshop, as I felt that this symmetry needs to be broken for the photo to come alive. I could not call the birds to fly over, so I blended them in. Hire a photographer in Tokyo Conversion to black and white photography is not that simple as one would think. In fact, it is usually more time consuming than editing of a colour photo. Before the conversion can be made, the contrast and colours need to be adjusted. On top of this, if you really want to create a fine art black and white photography, then you will find yourself spending lots of time with pen tool making selections, in order to perform precision dodging and burning of architectural details. Black and white photography is based on 256 tones, whereas colour photography can have millions of colours. On a side note, black and white photography is great for learning how to see tonal differences and contrast, and learn more powerful compositions. If you live or are visiting Tokyo, I organise architecture and urban photography workshops, here are more details.

Hire a photographer in Tokyo Here is another shot from the NASA and JAXA expo in Tokyo's Makuhari Messe exhibition halls. If you are in Tokyo then it is not a bad place to visit. Lots of genuine items that have seen the outer space, lots of full size replicas, like the Apollo 17, and so on. There are 100s of places to go and 100s of things to do in Tokyo, and this expo is not a must see, but it is fun and it is definitely something that you won't see every day. For me it was great, because I could shoot a lot of stock photos for my cyborg photoshop manipulatio project. Large tripods aren't allowed, but I think you could get away with a small one. Also, the official website says that you cannot photograph certain items, but I took photos of everything and so were the other people, and no one was objecting, so I gather that you can shoot anything in there. Besides, how many times you have a chance to snap a selfie in a space suit helmet's glass?

Here is yet another shot from my 3 hours ride on the Yurikamone line in Tokyo, which is a fully automated elevated train, that offers amazing views of modern architecture from Odaiba to mainland Tokyo. The train runs across the Rainbow Bridge, and it is where this photo was shot. I took that picture at the exit from the Rainbow Bridge where the train enters a giant loop descending down, over and Shibaura Island. I was lucky with the sun position, and managed to catch it before it went down behind the buildings. I am really happy with that shot. I am thinking of preparing a black and white version of it, too. I used this photo in my new photoshop tutorial, which will be published today on my YouTube channel.

Fuji Television building is one of the most famous spots in Tokyo, and probably one of the most photographed ones, too. Although it was built 1997, its design is very futuristic even today. It offers a wide spectrum of artistic opportunities for creative photographers. The building is covered with metal plates that are matte, but still reflect light, so it is fantastic for monochrome photography. So, if you dont mind spending some time with pen tool in photoshop and creating a fine art black and white photography, the this structure is a dream come true. On top of this, you can capture interesting vries of Odaiba from the building itself.
