Whenever I grab a camera and go out shooting to a specific location, I never now know what photos I will come back with. Sometimes it is the weather that makes me change my plans, or it could something that distracts me, like an unexpected event, which is often the case in Tokyo. The photo below was taken at Ginza last year. I went out to photograph the Imperial Palace gardens, but when I left the subway station it started to rain. I decided to shoot some street photography instead. I sat down to change my lenses, and by chance I spotted this little girl with a massive umbrella crossing the street. Suddenly, she heard her mom and turned her head, and I got this wonderful gift from the gods of photography.
