I am not sure how many times I was in Odaiba continuously seeking new spots for taking photos of the night panorama of Tokyo and the Rainbow Bridge. This time, however, I decided to take a slightly different approach and use the panorama of Tokyo as a background, as an element while composing my photos. Sometimes it is good to work the same scene many times, to challenge your imagination and creativity, and see with how many good compositions you can come up with. Odaiba is a fascinating place for any photographer, as there is so much to shoot, you could spend there a month and still have things to photograph. Anyways, here is my final shot, and I have also recorded a full length photoshop workflow (about 1h long) on how I created this photo with details commentaries on the process. It is a particularly tricky shot to edit, as the composition is based on 3 layers: the Tokyo city, the Rainbow Bridge and the people on the view deck. On top of this the scene is backlit by a sunset, yet the city lights are already popping out. So there is lots to juggle and consider during the editing. The final photo is a digital blend of a few exposures. Enjoy!
